profit from the breeding of an animal. The opposite side insist that animals have long been used as a resource, and a basic healthy environment all that is necessary. The reality is that no matter how rigid or permissive ones beliefs are regarding the subject, we all can agree on one thing: That the total health of the animal, his/her cohabitant's and the progeny produced is of utmost importance. For that matter, we personally have set standards of care, breeding and daily interaction that we feel are instrumental in creating the warm, cheery environment we pride ourselves on. However, the sad facts show that many, many poor animals are kept in conditions that are far below our stringent standards. The misrepresentation of "Kennels" and "Farms" is prevalent as well, creating an situation ripe with concern, distrust, and misinformation. Hence, we would like to urge our visitors to learn more regarding this subject. To help you in this regard, we have provided links to several well written and deeply informative sites. For those of you who desire to take action and prevent many of the situations you are about to learn of, we are also providing linkage to sites that will provide directions in this area. Please be aware.....the nature of this very subject is truly painful and difficult to view. You may become quite uncomfortable with this information or images that are shown.....but do remember: you are merely on the outside looking in. There are wonderfully warm hearted creatures who are actually forced to live in these settings. And they have no voice. And although some go into breeding for a hobby, most get greedy and expand , and with expanding the breed and care suffers. Please monitor any selected kennel for months prier to buying . Accidents , are words used by most kennels to cover up back to back breeding. I do plan to add to this link so be sure to come back to it. I do want t to say that because someone post a no puppy mill on their web site don't mean that they are clear of being a puppy mill. If you do nothing by just reproduce in a time when dogs are being put down in the thousands a day, what are you? It seems that I have offended some breeders with this view that I have on puppy mills and backyard breeder. Please get reference's if you can not go see the mom's and pups. |

| I do wish the more people would consider where they buy a puppy and if they can handle a pup. Malamutes become large dogs. And need to be handled daily. If this is something that you are not able to do , I would suggest that you go with a smaller dog. And if you have the mind set that you will get a pup, breed a litter or two and get your money back , it is not going to happen unless you are willing to cut expenses as those in the pictures above. Breed dogs back to back and push them onto anyone that has the money to buy them. Never thinking about if they are a good home and the dog is suited for them or not. Internet buying is fine and most breeders rely on that to make the puppy sales just as those in that sell to a pet store do. But without knowing about the history of the parents and about the breeder it is not different then buying from a pet store. This is how it is, like it or not. The big price tags put on pups and the one's buying dogs for that price doesn't mean that the dog is any better quality that someone else's pups. The advertise Giants and yet anything over AKC standards can be considered a giant. An and AKC mom and dad doesn't mean that the pups will be AKC registered. Most respectable breeders do NOT give out breeding rights and put high prices on them just to sale with breeding rights. I know that the pictures above are some of the worst condition's that you will find. Most are not like this. The way to be sure is to go check out the place or at least get reference to what the place is like. If the breeder is not willing to take the time to send you pictures and at least reference's then where would your support system be if you bought a puppy from them? And since there are so many dogs and pups being put down a day, if there is any way that you can take an adult or an older pup, please do. We are breeding why to many dogs for what the economy can handle. Most are selling to anyone that comes up with the asking price, suitable home or not. Our country doesn't need humane society's ran by our government. But state laws that are actually maintained by each state. The big humane society's are not helping us to save our dogs, but only pocketing the money to go after all breeders( states job again) and makes all breeders look bad. We need to be as selective about where we get our pup as well as we take the time to pick out our produce at the grocery store. Understanding that dogs need trained as well as we train our children. They just don't learn it themselves. If we keep it up and government starts running our kennels with PETA behind them, our children will not have the pleasure in the future to have what is today called a pet. Kathy Eichenlaub |
